Our aim is to give women with gynaecological concerns the quality of care that meets modern standards and expectations. We work with other specialists in gynaecology and obstetrics, and in other fields, so that your care and treatment are quick and effective.

Specialist training

I began my specialist training in gynaecology and obstetrics in 2013 at UMC Maribor and completed it with distinction in 2018.

Since then I have worked as a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics at UMC Maribor, in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology and Breast Oncology.

I have taken further training abroad in gynaecological ultrasound and oncological surgery.

Experience

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana in 2010 and then joined a volunteer humanitarian mission to the village of Majiwa in Kenya with the Department of Tropical Medicine. In 2011 I completed my internship at UMC Ljubljana and then worked as a resident doctor in the Department of Abdominal Surgery there.

I have worked at UMC Maribor since 2013, and since 2018 as a specialist in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology and Breast Oncology. I am an assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Maribor and a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences. My research as a student was recognised with the Prešeren faculty award. In 2022 I received my doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine in Maribor.

Research

My research focuses on gynaecological cancers and precancerous changes of the reproductive organs. Internationally I served on the Slovenian trainee section of EBCOG (European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology). I am currently an active member of ENYGO (European Network of Young Gynae Oncologists) and ESGO (European Society of Gynaecological Oncology).
